" World Of Darkness"

My world is dark around me

Not a ray of sun is found,

I depend on other senses

Like touch and smell and sound.

Please! don't feel sorry for me

That's not the thing to do.

Except that I am blind

I'm just the same as you.

I can hear the birds that sing,

As they flutter through the air,

I can touch the gentle petals

Of the flowers growing there.

I can not see the colors

That make the rainbow grand.

But I hear the whisper of the wind

and feel the grass upon the ground.

I can tell you by your footsteps,

Feel your presence when your near.

Identify you by your voice.

And I've been know to shed a tear.

" Poor soul how she must suffer!"

I hear some people say,

But they, close their eyes to justice.

So I'd rather be this way.

" Daydreaming"

Sometimes I catch myself daydreaming

As my thoughts take me back home.

To wide open spaces

And the people I've once known.

I remember the flowing river

Were I could have sat all day,

To feel the peace around me

And watch the waters play.

I still see the big old bridge

Where I stood to watch the view,

And every time I stood there

I was pleased with something new.

I still can feel the country air

Blowing soft and smelling sweet,

Playfully swaying the grass and trees,

And buttercups at my feet.

Not a worry in this whole world,

Did I have while I was there,

It's as if that flowing river

And I had dreams to share.

Someday, I hope that I can go

Back to my old home town.

To the easy country living

And the peace that I once found.

" Nature And I"

Here I am on top this hill

The wind blowing through my hair.

Flowers blooming all around

God's beauty everywhere.

I feel the sun upon my face

The soft grass beneath my feet.

Watch the grace of birds fly by

Towards a velvet blue retreat.

White Fluffy clouds dot the sky

making my imagination soar.

Building castles ships or things

I can open any door.

The air so fresh, sweet and mild,

Blowing it's fragrance around,

Gathering them as it goes along.

Kissing flowers, trees and ground.

The silence, is truly golden.

Only nature can be heard,

The chirping of the cricket

And the singing of the bird.

Alone?, I'm not I assure you.

How can this be? you say.

All, of God's glorious beauty

Has kept me company to day.

"Seasons"

Those lazy days, those hazy day

Just before the spring,

Those blowy days and chilly days

When you don't hear birds that sing.

It's on those days, those dreary days,

When you'd like to stay in bed.

Just to dream away the hours

With covers o'er your head.

Those days are last of winter,

T'was a time of joy and fun.

A time of snowy winter

But now, those days are done.

I know that I'm discouraged,

I know that I am blue.

I know I'm not the only one,

Because you feel it too.

It's the waiting for the flowers

And green upon the ground.

The birds upon the barren trees

And freshness all around.

And then you'll see a difference,

In the people that you meet.

And it surely won't be long now

We'll complain about the heat !

" Jealousy"

Jealousy! That awful green eyed monster

Lurks deep in everyone.

And he thrives upon those things

That he has seen we've done.

When we're hurting he is happy

Gets excited when we scream and yell

And if he grows to big,

He will drive us all to HELL.

He enjoys the accusations

That give us cause to cry.

We can't beat that awful monster

But we sure In hell can try!

Why! Oh Why

Why ! Oh why! my darling,

Do you make me cry,

Do you do it thoughtlessly

Or do you have to try?

Making hurt, tears and sadness.

It's such a waste of time,

The world is oh, so full of this

Pains of every kind.

So why the hurt, My darling

It's so very hard to say,

We, should be growing closer

With each new passing day.

"Magic Of the Snow"

See the snow as it comes down

So Soft and white and very pure,

Watch it settle on the ground

That no longer can be seen.

It's really, really funny

How the snow can make you change,

I feel like life has started me

Toward a sweet and carefree way.

I Love to watch the children,

As they laugh and as they play

Oh ! how happy they must be,

On such a snowy day.

Watch Out! yells a youngster

As they dodge a snowball fight,

There is no other beauty

To match the snow at night.

Have you ever felt it?

The urge to be the one

To run and laugh and play,

Again to be that young.

Snowmen, Angels watch them how they grow.

Trails from sleighs cutting through the snow.

" Lost Friendships"

  Whatever happened to that friend

I had so long ago?

Sharing dreams and sharing tears,

To-gether fighting foe.

I often think about that friend

Wherever she might be

I often wonder how frequently

My friend will think of me?

Times dies pass and life must change

We all must go our separate way

And as I watch my children

I'd remember how we'd play.

It really is so very sad,

What miles and years have done.

They have taken the best of friendships

And erased them one by one.

What ever happened to that friend?

I loved and cared for so,

She only is a memory

Of a life so long ago.

"A Time In Your Life"

Is there a time in your life,

When you reached for a hand,

But that hand was pulled quickly away?

Is there a time in your life

When you called on a friend,

But that friend couldn't be found that day?

Is there a time in your life

When you pleaded for help,

But that pleading fell on a deaf ear?

Is there a time in your life,

When you cried out in pain,

But your cries turned into fear?

Is there a time in your life,

When you swore at them all

But no one seemed to care?

If there's a time in your life,

When your needing someone

Remember that I will be there!

Now that I have reached the wonderful age of the over 50's. I have to wonder what the golden really means.

Let us see now

G is for -Grey

O is for -Old

L is for - Lost Youth

D is for - Death

E is for - Empty

N is for - Nothingness

Or do you think it means this

G is for -Grandkids & great grandkids

O is for -Order in our lives

L is for -Life as we want to live it

D is for -Daring to do those thing we want

E is for -Everything we couldn't do with kids

N is for - Not having to answer to anyone

I sometimes think we are too busy until we are in the Golden Years to stop to smell the roses, listen to the music or read the poems.

I've decided that I am going to do all that plus. Won't you join me?

I know we are finding places we hurt that we didn't even know we had until now.

Share A Smile

And that the wrinkles are taking up space on our faces.

Our medicine cabinets look like drug counters.

But our Hearts don't have to grow older than we let it. And our laughter does not have to fade away.
